The cottage

A beautiful cottage in the most wonderful location - steps away from the beach and a few minutes walk to the centre of Whitstable. This fisherman’s cottage dates back to 1810, is full of period charm, and sympathetically decorated with antique, comfortable furniture. The cottage has a mature garden with side access, and is set down several steps meaning it feels nice and private. The cottage has steep stairs and some low ceilings.

Amenities

As you enter there is an open plan living room with a dining table comfortably seating 4. The kitchen is at the back of the cottage leading to the mature garden, with shade from a large olive tree and cherry tree. At the back of the garden there is a BBQ and bench for the evening sun.

On the first floor there is a family bathroom with over bath shower, and the double bedroom with lots of wardrobe space.

A second small staircase (mind your head!) leads up to the second floor which is a large twin bedroom.

Please note, there are steep steps down from pavement level to get into the cottage, and inside to get up to first and second floor. There is a stair gate (along with Babybjorn travel cot and bed guard) in the twin bedroom cupboard, but please be mindful that the stairs are potentially dangerous for children. Also, anyone relatively tall should watch out for the low ceilings!

Reviews

‘The nicest Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in! Such a cute cottage. I loved the decor and the location was amazing… under a ten second walk to the beach! It smelled beautiful too which isn’t something I normally think about in an air bnb!’

‘Amazing place -- so conveniently located for the beach, and within a short walk to all possible pubs/shops/restaurants on the main streets. The cottage is so stylishly decorated, and is very comfortable and clean. Georgie is also a fab host, super responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend for a stay at Whitstable!’

‘Rose Cottage is beautiful and perfectly located just a block from the sea front and a very short walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants. Georgina was a perfect host, responsive and thoughtful and I appreciated all the little details like biscuits and coffee. I would definitely recommend and return’

‘Rose cottage is lovely; it’s like a location straight out of a Richard Curtis movie. Cosy, clean and full of character, I would highly recommend it for a weekend away’
