Food & Drink

The Old Neptune

The cottage is 2 minutes walk from the famous Old Neptune pub, one of only a handful of pubs to be found on the beaches of Britain and regularly voted one of the best pubs in the UK.

Windy Corner Stores

Left onto Island Wall, we love this café and store for breakfast and other essentials, just 1 minute walk away.

The Forge

Beach front shack serving the best fish and chips, oysters and, not to missed, fresh donuts! Perfect spot for lunch

Grain & Hearth

Possibly our favourite bakery, ever. 5 minute walk to get your breakfast sourdough loaf or pastries, or stay in for the most delicious brunch. They also sell a small but great selection of wines, artisan products and do workshops too

The Whitstable Oyster Company

A favorite for a special occasion, we love the outdoor tables overlooking the sea during the day and its great for a date in the evening. Virtually all seafood

The Pearsons Arms

Book well in advance - this is a great gastro pub, best for an evening meal or wintery Sunday lunch

Farm & Harper

We had the most delicious, family friendly brunch here recently and cant wait to try it again for dinner. Locally sourced menu and fun interiors.

Harbour Street Tapas

Great atmosphere, great menu, great night out!

The Sportsman at Seasalter

This modest looking seaside gastropub has held a michelin star since 2008 and is on every foodies ‘must-do’ list. You have to book weeks in advance! It’s a very pleasant 1 hour walk west along the seafront

Birdies

A characterful family-run French Bistro in the center of town. Menus on chalk boards, excellent sea food and always a good atmosphere

Thai Orchid

A very short walk away on Middle Wall, this unassuming restaurant is a favourite with locals. Reasonably priced, generous portions and they do takeaways too.

Lotties

Our favourite for ice cream! It also now has a great sweet shop next door for when you need to bribe the kids.
